Moliceiro
| |
Moliceiro is the name of the traditional boats which navigate the Aveiro Estuary, in the North of Portugal. They were originally used to collect seaweed from the ocean, which was used as a fertiliser on the fields surrounding the estuary. Today, the Molicieros are used as recreation boats.
The Duna Parque Moliciero is the only one on the River Mira. It’s an excellent way of seeing the natural scenery of the river and the natural parkland encompassing it.
For half day trips, please ask Duna Parque to reserve the boat and its captain.

European canoe teams use the River Mira frequently as a training ground for international competitions.

Dragon Boat

The tide is high in the River Mira, but the boat doesn’t float” goes a famous Portuguese song.
But with the Dragon Boat, imported from China, there are no conditions that the River Mira experiences through which the Dragon Boat can’t navigate.
